One of the leading Presidential Aspirants of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Andrew Keili will arrive today Friday 6th November 2015 from the United State of America after a successful meeting in the United States with colleague aspirants of the SLPP and his book launch.
In the meeting in the United States, Andrew Keili told members and aspirants of the party that if the SLPP allows the ruling All People’s Congress to win the next election, it will be tantamount to encouraging one party again in Sierra Leone.
Andrew Keili made this statement during a conference organized by Northern American branch of the SLPP on 16th to the 18th October 2015.
He called for peace and unity within the party as many supporters are disenchanted to the point that they will become disinterested in the party and some may even join the APC.
Andrew Keili further stated that despite the current discord in the party, there is hope that peace will eventually prevail in the not too distant future. Peace, he said, is a gradual process.
He urged the Northern American branch to support the current initiatives which is slowly bearing fruit in the party.
Andrew Keili affirmed his decision to contest for the flag bearer the party, noting that he is the only candidate that could reach across the aisle to other aspirants and their factions.
He added that his membership and commitment to the party were unquestionable and he will always be supportive of the party.
He said he has served as a chairman of the Policy, Research and Manifesto committee and also on Strategic Planning Committee.
“I am a unifier, who has worked in all regions of the country who would be acceptable all over the country,” he proclaimed.
Andrew Keili told the audience that what is required in Sierra Leone is not so much policies but the experience to implement solutions coupled with the political will to do so.
He added that his 38 years working experience in the private and public sectors of Sierra Leone, establishing privates businesses, providing corporate oversight for many establishments and his records of formulating policy and implementing schemes in the infrastructure, extractives and several other sectors with efficiency and probity and his association with religious and philanthropic and professional organizations belie an in-depth understanding of the problems of Sierra Leone and their solutions.
“In the end the choice of who the SLPP flag bearer will be depends on who engenders the most trust in taking this country forward. My record speaks for itself. I am the leader you can trust,” he affirmed.
