“SONKOH-SONKOH IN FOOTBALL”
President Ernest Bai Koroma has described football as the sport with so much “sonkoh-sonkoh” ( meaning a sports with lots of confusion).
The President made this statement last weekend when opening the tow days 500 Million Leones Sports Conference at the Atlantic Hall, last weekend.
“The influence of sports in our human lives and national development can no longer be ignored, ” the President said.
He said that the benefits of sports cut across every other thing including health, the economy and entertainment.
The President stated that everywhere in the world sport is a thriving industry but questioned the reason it is different in Sierra Leone.
“A small country like ours can be easily transformed. With the development of sport we can do more than the mining industry and many other sectors,” the President maintained.
However sports analysts have said that 500 Million Leones sport conference which according to them was a talk shop is not the solution to the problems of sports in the country.
They said that the government should hands off the internal politics of some of the association rather they should be referees because according to them it was because of the interference into the politics of football, that they now have “sonkoh-sonkoh” in the game.

Hi, just wanted to share with you that we had a great vacation at Marina de Bolnuevo in June of this year. We flew into Alicante and hired a car from the airport for the short drive to Bolnuevo. The beaches are superb, most of them awarded the Blue Flag. The bars were great, with paella on the beach a delight and managed a trip to the nudist beach there. Very liberating. We also visited the Big Guns, The Roman Mines and the Sand sculptures. Will be returning there again in 2018. Thanks for reading Alicia.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that we had a great holiday at Marina de Bolnuevo in August of this year (http://www.marinadebolnuevo.co.uk/about-bolnuevo). We flew into Alicante and hired a car from the airport for the short drive to Bolnuevo. The beaches are fantastic, most of them awarded the Blue Flag. The cafes were great, with paella on the beach a highlight and managed a day on the nudist beach there. Very liberating. We also visited the Big Guns, The Roman Mines and the Sand sculptures. Will be returning there again next year. Look forward to meeting you at Marina de Bolnuevo in the next few months. Thanks for reading Nikki.
These two better settle their score now before everything ends up burnt!
