SIERRA LEONE TAEKWONDO RECOGNIZED IN AFRICA- Salone Times

The just concluded All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville was the first international competition the Sierra Leone Taekwondo ever took part in.

Magnus M. Elie represented Sierra Leone with the president of Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association, Ones Abayoumi Johnson as the coach.

In the competition Masgnus was to face Boui Patrick from Central Africa but later changed to face Ghanaian Taekwondo professional Charles T. Cornwell based in Italy. 

The Ghanaian professional Taekwondo fighter got injured during the fight but he managed to defeat Magnus on technical points.

Because of lack of Competition experience the referee deducted over 15 points from Magnus for fouls and other misconduct during the fight.

Even though he won the fight the Ghanaian professional Taekwondo fighter commended Magnus for hard fight and encouraged him to continue the good work.

Magnus despite losing the fight has now become a register fighter in Africa Taekwondo system.

Ones Johnson also took the opportunity to take part in the IOC Athlete Career Programme Course organized in cooperation with Adecco.

Ones also took part in the Diploma in Karate Coaching course organized by the Union of Africa Karate Federation {UAFK}. The course was a coaching course on the sideline of the 11th Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville level 1 degree.

Meanwhile the association met yesterday, Tuesday October 6 2015 to inform athletes about the upcoming competition in the first week of November 2015 for both male and female.

This, the association said the November competition will qualify athletes for upcoming International competitions.
