Information and Communication Minister, Mohamed Bangura has referred to politicians on show-off- carnivals vis-à-vis battle for flagbearer in the APC as “Play Cook” politicians, not man enough to come out clean.
“If you want to be President, you needn’t wait for the announcement of date for elections by NEC, you should have prepared long ago,” Bangura self-righteously said.
Furthered: “even if you want to be a Parliamentarian, you still have to resign at least two years, to ensure that you are well prepared for the contest.”
This statement by no less a person but one who doubles as the ruling All People Congress party mouthpiece, political Analysts say, connote facts that the likes of Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, Kelfallah Marah, Alimamy Pepito Koroma, Victor Bockarie Foh, Ibrahim Bundu, Alpha Khanu, and Sam Sesay are all “Play Cook” politicians lacking leadership ability in the APC.
Analysts also alluded that people wanting to become President in the ruling APC are currently in functional government positions and so cannot make known their aspirations public, rather prefer doing it secret.
“If for goodness sake those who surreptitiously say they intend aspire for flagbearer in the APC don’t have the guts to publicly say it out, can they be described as serious politicians?” a concerned but disappointed electorate said.
Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, Chairman and Leader Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) also described Ministers and Ambassadors on show-off presidential carnivals but still occupying respective public positions as ‘unserious’ politicians.
He referenced Hillary Clinton whom he said resigned four years to the recently held American elections and of course Kandeh Yumkella, who long ago, has given up his United Nations employment to contest for Leadership in the opposition SLPP and of the Presidency of the country.
