Following recent African Nations Cup qualifier between Sierra Leone and the Elephants of Ivory Coast, Isha Johansen, President Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) seems making a turn back clamoring for peace.
The Match between the two nations ended ‘goal a piece’, which eventually saw the lvorians qualifying, leaving their Sierra Leonean counterpart to wait for another two years.
Because of the disappointing result of Leone Stars, Isha Johansen appears to have been left without any option but embark on a campaign of peace using the media, an action many have described as a complete farce and no doubt a trick to see her continue as one at the realm of affairs of football in country.
People’s thoughts are that if Isha truly in need of peace within the football family, she should first of all apologize to Sierra Leone as a nation for embarrassing the country’s football legend Mohamed Kallon- that nasty slap she gave him sometimes ago.
“Those whose names were put on a match fixing list thus resulting in their suspension from all football activities must also be recalled,” they say.
Of course, Isha herself has attested to the Parliamentary Committee on Sports that she used the match fixing allegation for political purpose, forgetting that the reputation of over 20 Sierra Leoneans have been put on the line.
The same Isha who now penitently call for peace, has been the one that sacked some of the people that were working in the Football
Association on grounds that they did not support her during the electioneering process, accusing them of not handing over Mercury Machines given them.
Some Sierra Leoneans are now asking for explanation from Isha about money that have been coming into the country for football development, which they say have not been accounted for on number of times.
Attempts made by some members of the Football family forcing Isha account for monies given her administration have all been proven futile.
Few months ago, the Secretary General of the FA, Chris Kamara, now on a long term leave, was invited by the Anti Corruption Commission to answer to questions on corruption allegation.
It is believed that Isha’s peace charade is a way getting delegates vote her for second term after the world football governing body has mandated her to hold congress by October this year.
