The interim leader and chairman of the National Grand Coalition (NGC), Dr. Dennis Bright has told newsmen that now that they have been given their full certificate of registration from the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC).
“We are now free to operate as a political party, ” he asserted.
Dr. Bright furthered that the Interim National Trustee Council of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) will oversee the process to choose their National Officer and Presidential Candidate.
He added that Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella is a member of the NGC having defected from the SLPP and that he is the only member of the NGC who has expressed interest in running for the presidency under the ticket of the NGC and he is free to sell himself to the people of Sierra Leone.
The interim Leader and Chairman said the registration of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) as a political party was celebrated amongst supporters and sympathizers across the country.
He said before becoming a political party, the National Grand Coalition (NGC) was operating as a movement. Dr.
Bright added that the constitution of their party is clear on the processes to follow before and after elections.
He mentioned that it will take time for the people of Sierra Leone to understand the ideologies of the NGC proper but said that as a party, they have many members who have joined the party who are not ‘breakaways’ from other parties. He said the NGC will serve as an umbrella to bring together people who share the same ideology.
