A Sierra Leonean and Chinese employees of the Bintumani Hotel were in court after it was alleged that the Chinese national was beaten and wounded by the Sierra Leonean.
The Chinese national, Wang Gang, accused Tamba Kainessie of beaten and wounded him thereby inflicting actual bodily harm on him.
Tamba is charged with three counts of wounding with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Detective Police Constable 15105 Aruna Sesay, a police investigator attached to the Criminal Investigation Department charged the matter to court shortly after the matter was transferred from Aberdeen police to CID HQ for further investigation.
According to DPC Aruna, the file was transferred to CID HQ in September from Aberdeen police with the accused person, a knife containing blood stain and a flash drive having Bintumani Hotel’s inscription on it.
That on 5th September, 2017, a CCTV footage showing the accused stabbing the complainant was played to him.
And on the following day, he (DPC Aruna) in company of one DPC 6585 Nanoh J. S obtained charge statement from the accused using the judge’s rule principles.
“On the 7th September, with DPC 6585 Nanoh J. S. the accused was charged with the offences of wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm,” He said.
Bail application from the defense was denied and the accused was remanded in custody.
