PRESS  RELEASE
28TH JULY 2016

The Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) is perturb and distress by the All People’s Congress (APC) ruling government decision to destroy the main entrance bridge to Koidu Town, Kono District for mining purpose.

The destruction of the Congo-Bridge that links important places within Koidu town thus creating unprecedented flooding and hardship.

The APC government are more in tune with themselves than the people they represent. And they don’t care about the people or their concerns.
The Chairman and Leader for the ADP, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray is calling on President Ernest Bai Koroma to urgently address the concerns of the residents in Kono and rebuild the bridge in the shortest time possible as democracy will only thrive when their is peace.

Presidential hopeful for the opposition Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) has referred to the Resident Minister East, Karamoh Kabba as a lumpen with gang kingpin attitude who lacks respect for mankind.

He condemned the shocking statement of Karamoh Kabba contained in an audio, making the rounds in social media regarding the illicit mining activities in the heartland of Koidu Town, as unfortunate and barbaric.

“For a failed government minister to publicly threatened innocent people in their native land shows lack of respect for humanity, democracy and the rule of law.”

The ADP leader further noted that the outrageous and mindless statement from Karamoh has the tendency to cause mayhem in the diamond rich district.

“Karamoh Kabba trumpeting violence and intimidation against innocent people whose rights have been trampled upon is extremely nonsensical and pathetic. Karamoh Kabba and his group of cronies should concentrate on improving the already collapsed economy of the State, rather than intimidating people,” Kamarainba stated.

We are of the conviction that the Koroma led-APC administration had failed with their agenda for prosperity, now “agenda for poverty and austerity measures”.

We are urging the people of Kono to remain calm and respect the laws of the land.

“When government fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny .” Thomas Jefferson

The ADP is a party that believes in Unity, Freedom and Justice for all, the Rule of Law, and upholding the tenets of Democracy.
